What are Seborrheic Keratoses?
Seborrheic keratosis (age spots) are growths on the skin. They appear in your thirties, and increase as you get older. Most people develop them at some point in their lives.
When they first appear, they look like dabs of candle wax on your skin. They get slightly raised, and look tan or light brown. As they develop more, they get thicker and darker. They may also become rough, dry and cracked. They can appear anywhere on your body, but commonly occur on the chest, back shoulders, face, neck and scalp.
These lesions are benign, and their cause is unknown. Somethimes however, they can get irritated if they rub against your clothing or gets caught in your comb, brush or razor. It may get red, sore, itchy, irritated or it may bleed.

How are Seborrheic Keratoses Treated?
Seborrheic keratoses don't need to be treated unless they bother you by becoming red, sore, or bleed. They are treated mainly by cryotherapy, which involves freezing the growths with a chemical called liquid nitrogen.
